It’s no secret that dogs love food, I mean how many of us have gone somewhere in our house only to find our pooch has somehow obtained food from seemingly nowhere?

Although they can be cheeky at times every dog deserves to get spoilt once in a while, so why not make these delicious treats for your furry best friend to really spoil them?!

Try these recipes below:

Chicken dog treats:

This is a great and super simple recipe for your pooch if they absolutely love chicken (which we’re pretty sure is nearly every dog!) Don’t worry if you don’t have chicken you can substitute it for another meat your dog loves.

For these baked tasty goodies, you’ll need:

1 cup of cooked, finely diced chicken

½ a cup of rice, cooked & mashed

3 tablespoons of parsley

1 egg

  1. Preheat oven to 175C
  2. Mix together all ingredients until combined.
  3. Spoon mixture onto tray (or into a mould if you have one)
  4. Bake for 20 – 30 minutes, until tops are golden brown
  5. Once baked, allow to cool before storing them or feeding them to your dog
  6. Enjoy!

Peanut Butter and Strawberry frozen treats:

It seems that dogs absolutely LOVE peanut butter, so when the Melbourne weather starts to heat up (hopefully soob!) why not try this handy recipe to help cool your pup down and give them a delicious treat at the same time.

For this delicious and refreshing treat, you’ll need:

12 medium to large strawberries

About 3-4 spoonfuls of peanut butter

¼ cup of cold water

Ice cube tray

  1. Wash and cut tops of strawberries
  2. Put strawberries and water together until pureed
  3. Fill ice cube tray with the puree, only filling each slot ¾ full
  4. Place a dollop of peanut butter onto each filled slot in the ice cube tray
  5. Place in freezer and allow to freeze
  6. Once frozen you are ready to take some treats out and let your pup enjoy!
